AUCKLAND, New Zealand -- A gambling addicted chef has been sentenced to community detention after gambling away money from a banking error, Stuff reported.

Mehdi Soheilli spent $106, 217 from a total of $141,000 that was placed into his account by mistake, the report explained.

He was sentenced to community detention and is repaying the money stolen, Stuff reported.

And really, the recipient thought he could spend the money and not get caught? The word "addict" played a big part in this. smh
