Any Blackjack advice?

Hi gang:I want to play in the Blackjack tourney's at Grand Eagle Casino that they offer, but dont really know much about  Blackjack.  It seems like the dealer gets Blackjack quite often, while I get a lousy pair of cards.  Is this normal?Isnt there a rule in Blackjack about standing at 16? lol  I mean I really dont know how to play.I could read up on it, but it takes time I really dont have, and I know we have alot of smart members here at No Deposit Forum and was hoping for some advice.Any replies would be appreicated.                                                                      Pam <a href="http://www.grandeaglecasino.com/?rt=fb2c6405-fdd7-4d5a-844b-fe2d89c97076-5319" title="Grand Eagle">

normally that is how it is for me too. one time in a tourney the dealer got BJ five times in a row. but someone told me one time to change the way i play when i lose several hands in a row, for instance if the dealer shows a 5 or 6 and i do too i will hit my hand because normally i would hold because chances are the dealer will bust. or if i have 12, 13 or 14 and the dealer shows a face card i will hold on my hand instead of hit it. i have found that changing my game play really does make a difference, i don't lose as much lol. i love BJ tourneys is this a free tourney or a buyin?

Hi daremeto:Thanks for the advice.  I'll most certainly use it.The tourney is at 9pm, and I play with my loyalty points. If you deposit there I am sure you have some, and the tourney only cost 5.I enjoy these tourneys so much.  Usually I play the slot tourneys, but have become interested in BJ too.Check it out.                                                                     PamThansk again friend:

Good question Pam, I've been a lover of this Blackjack game for many years but unfortunately Blackjack does not like me!Starting off knowing the basics of the game and why players Sit , Hit , Double Down , Split or even Surrender will at least make better the odds in your favour.I've found a basic table you can use as a guide some you can play with some confidence.There are many players who have little to know idea on playing Blackjack and this will become obvious as you watch other players strategies.Some also may be counting cards so their play seems erratic but keep to your own style until you become confident.Also keep one thing foremost in your mind as you play with others,if a player sits or hit when you think they should have played differently and your hand becomes a loser remember this. It does not matter if you get the 134th or 135th card from the deck Anyway, below is a table I hope you find helpful.It seems fairly self explanatory.
