JACKPOT CAPITAL GAVE ME A BAD CHECK!!!
LhasaLover wrote: HOW can a bank tell you a check is bad just by looking at it? Normal banks don't call the other bank to verify funds, under normal circumstances. Did they say it was bad or that they couldn't accept it ? Sometimes we get checks from offshore casinos that are drawn on other countries, including Canada, that don't have correspondent US banks listed on them. Many banks won't accept those checks; those that do, put them through an entirely different collection process.
LhasaLover, I had those questions in one of my replies but erased them out for some reason.
Also, what you said about the checks going through an entirely different collections process is basically what the rep has told me. Here's what the rep said ......... Upon request of a payout via check, customers are advised: Please note! Checks are ONLY drawn on a Canadian bank account. Checks can only be deposited into a bank account! <br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " /><br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " />JC slotgal50 - check of $xxx sent on 4 January, has not yet cleared our account. <br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " /><br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " />JC Lucky5623 - check of $xxxxsent on 6 March, has not yet cleared our account, e-mail sent to customer today, awaiting her response. <br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " /><br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " />Since the check is drawn on a Canadian bank, some US banks put non-US checks through a waiting period for clearance, which is beyond our control. <br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " /><br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " />Customers are advised if they have issues to try the following options: <br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " />1) deposit to bank account <br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " />2) send check via Fedex/UPS courier to our location in Antigua (fees are paid back to the customer) <br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " />3) last option: place a stop payment, charged from our check processor $250 <br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " /><br style="line-height:17px;color:#2a2a2a;font-family:'Segoe UI', Tahoma, Verdana, Arial, sans-serif; " />The problem must be that the bank doesn't want to accept the check as it is not a domestic check (US). All customers who can't cash the checks have the above options. K5M38, it is up to you if you want to mail your check back to JCslotgal, since your check is at the bank waiting to clear, you might just want to continue to wait because the fee for a stop payment is more than your cashout. This is not anything that you have not heard yet as you both have contacted JC about your issues. Since the rep only reiterated what you have been told, I'm afraid that's all the info I will get. -- Edited by Mben on Friday 8th of March 2013 12:20:52 PM
