More Research = More Confusion

Hopefully graduating from the newbee online gambler and just about ready to pat myself on the back and then it happened! I ran across this web site that lists all on-line casinos by their owners. This is where the confusion starts. For example, take the Vegas type casinos that one sees often. I used to call them the English Harbor group. which I had catagorized as the 5 that always seem to advertise with each other. (SuperSlots, EH, Millionaire, SDollar,VIP Slots) Well come to find out, the actual owners name for this group is EH Gaming Ventures Inc AND this Parrent company owns the following casinos... Number of Sites: 7 Sites Owned: Caribbean Gold Casino , English Harbour Casino , Golden Casino , Millionaire Casino , Silver Dollar Casino , SuperSlots , VIP Slots (And two others but they do not allow USA play so I did not list them)Now here is the point that I am trying to make. Throw out the Caribbean Gold site they own and consider the other 6 sites. I have not had a chance to research that one.Out of the 6 casinos that that remain, we can pretty much go any where on this forum and anywhere on the web and get a positive recommendation for 5 of the 6 casinos. However, Golden Casino gets moderate to poor reviews. One can even find it listed on blacklist! Now can someone please tell me WHY? My view is if the owners or parent company will let one of the child ventures go dirty then they are dirty. Atleast they are not opposed to being dirty if or when they can get away with it.OR All of the six casinos should be recommended casinos, and none should be on any blacklists!I can do this same analysis with other Parent owners of casinos. I just happened to pick this group because I, in particular, love Golden Casino. I just am looking for any possiblity that they are mislisted as a not recommended site to place your wagers. Any coments from all you experts to my logic or lack of? -- Edited by belgamo at 22:58, 2008-09-12

Hi hope this helps, but Golden Casino shares the same software but is owned by a different company. Online Vegas Casino and Golden Casino are owned by the same company. The English Harbour Group owns the casinos that you listed, but there is also another group running the same software Hot Pepper Casino is the main casino for that group. So hope this helps with your research.

I kinda understand I think. Either that web site that listed EH as an owner of Golden Casino was flat out untrue or perhaps they just own a sliver of them but do not exercise control or something else that is entirely over my head!"

Tell you guys what, I will just stick to being a newby for a while longer and take your word on it. Just glad I stumbled onto this forum when I did and joined up. If I would have read more of the discussions before I made deposits at some of the ripoff casinos, I would have save bunches of cash. But I cant blame anyone but myself for those losses. This forum CLEARLY indicates which sites are recommended."
"
And by the way I took to heart that PM from you belagmo and have not thrown any money away at Golden Casino even though I was tempted. So you know I dont ask for your advice and not take it. "

Thanks to both of you for your comments!

Yogi- Consider this:A company designs software... Casino software. The name of that company could be, for example, one of the following:Real Time Gaming (RTG) Rival MicrogamingVegas TechnologyPlaytechThese companys do not own or operate online casinos. They sell their product(gaming software) to individuals or companies that do.So Yogi you strike up a contract with Vegas Technology (you know it as an EnglishHarbor type Casino) you create a WEB Site or actually an online Casino. You call it YOGI Casino. I slso purchase and sign a contract with Vegas Technolog. I call my Casino NancySlots. We are two different companies that have nothing in common but the fact that we both bought our software from the same software developer ... Vegas Technology. You are hugely successful and branch out with more casinos. They have different names Yogiscasino2 and 3,4,5 and 6. Or maybe EnglishHarbor, Super Slots, Millionaire Casino etc. But they are all yours and you call the shots on how they operate. You Yogi are a fair and honest casino operator. You have an excellent reputation. You pay players when they win. You honor any promotions that you run.But I Nancy!!! Am a scam artist. I give out huge bonus codes and freebies. I don't care about return customers. So I don't pay out. I just prey on new players. If they get lucky and win I lock them out! I find another customer that doesnt know any better. I take their deposits from them until they win. Then I come up with some fine print and deny their cash out. This is why a lot of Casino Software providers started making buyers sign contracts that gave them(Gaming software providers) more say on how their gaming software is used. After all if their customer [Nancy Slots for instance] cheats players not only Nancy Slots gets a bad name but the company that designed the software Nancy uses reputation is tarnished. A good example of how this plays out is how Playtech forced their buyers (users) of their software to stop accepting players from the USA after the Internet Gambling Laws were passed. The contracts Playtech had with their gaming software users enabled Playtech to tell them who they were allowed to accept as customers! The Casino operators probably never saw that one coming. Some Casinos (with a high percentage of US customers) actually dumped Playtech and purchased Gaming/Casino Software from software gaming companies that were USA friendly. Some software manufactures are a little more active at policing their customers (acual casinos) than others. But really in the end it is all cash driven. If bad Casino operators pay the software companies enough they go along with the operators scams. That is what makes forums like this one so important. You can get up to date information from experienced online gaming gurus and other online gamblers like your self. Hope this helped Nancy -- Edited by nancy at 02:57, 2008-09-13

Wow, what an awesome explanation Nancy! I am a visual mind kind of learner and have to see the big picture in order to fully understand a lot of things. I had a vague idea of what you posted beforehand but it was divided up in my head wrong. I now totally get it. Just a wee bit embarrassing, as a moderator on a gambling board, I just now passed rouge casino 101, LOL. Thanks for the visual, I saw the Light , haha.taco

I must not have expressed the point I was trying to make clearly in my original post. Let me get some sleep now, and tommorrow I will recap my point. My original post was to long and hard to follow. I will post recap in A different manner. The software vender has nothing to do with my issue. It just happened, in that example, that VEGAS software was common to all of the mentioned casinos."

yogi, I think I understand your question now.You are wondering about casino groups and why one casino in the group may be blacklisted while all the others are recommended casinos.Groups for example:Casino Rewards - Lucky Emperor, Virtual City, ZodiacFortune Lounge - Royal Vegas, Vegas Towers, Vegas PalmsJackpot Factory - All Jackpots, All Slots, Wild JackEH Group - English Harbor, Millionaire, Silver Dollar ( and you listed Golden Casino in this group.)From what tookaotik wrote Golden Casino is not in the EH group. It is in the Hot Pepper group Hi hope this helps, but Golden Casino shares the same software but is owned by a different company . Online Vegas Casino and Golden Casino are owned by the same company. The English Harbour Group owns the casinos that you listed, but there is also another group running the same software Hot Pepper Casino is the main casino for that group . So hope this helps with your research. And Belgamo is giving his recommendation of the Hot Pepper group. Stay away from Golden Casino, Online Vegas , Hot Pepper their management team and player support departments are far below any english harbor casino. Did this help or did I just add to your mass confusion??
