Nebraska's Campaign Funds Hard At Work ... At The Casino

You would think that campaign funds are to be used for just that but that's not what a Nebrask state Senator used the funds for. Brenda Council used $63,000 of campaign funds to fuel her personal gambling hobby. She has been charged with 2 misdemeanor counts of abusing public records. Council is running for a second term and it does not look like she plans on dropping out.

State Attorney General Jon Bruning had received a tip from law enforcement. He examined casino video and bank records and found that Council spent a lot of time at the slots and tables at the Sac and Fox Casino in northeast Kansas, according to WOWT TV.Council stated: I have a gambling problem. I didn't deal with it appropriately. Instead, it caused me to commit a grave error in judgment. She is currently running for re-election.
