News from the WWLL Championships...

(that's Women's Western Lacrosse League)

This tournament, essentially the Western Regional Championship, is being played this weekend at University of California, San Diego. UCLA will play Santa Clara University tomorrow afternoon in the Championship game with the winner the likely #1 seed in the National Championship tournament to be held in Virginia Beach, VA May 6-10.

UCLA beat UCSB (University of California, Santa Barbara) 15-3 in the quarterfinals and then beat San Diego State 16-6 in the semifinals.

Just returned from Sam Diego - Final Score Santa Clara 13 UCLA 8

I am very proud of the team and their effort in this game. Both teams will be in Virginia Beach for the National Championships starting May 6. The top 16 teams are invited - Santa Clara should be the #1 seed. UCLA will probably end up seeded #4 or #5

Bummer they lost but at least they still have the chance to go all the way!

The 16 teams that will compete for the National Championship were just released - UCLA is seeded 4th and will play the Towson Tigers (Maryland) on Wednesday May 6.

...and I will be there!
