Glen Gobin is the vice chairman of the Tulalip Tribes in Tulalip, Wash. and had this to say at a federal hearing on Thursday We see legalization of Internet gambling as a direct threat to economic growth in Indian Country, and we do not support any proposals that legalize Internet gambling. Anually, the Tribal casinos bring in about $26.5 billion in revenue per year. In comparison, the casinos in Nevada bring in $10.4 billion per year. There is defininate opposition coming from tribes in the US on the proposed legalization of internet poker. Could this opposition throw off what many are hoping to legalize? Time, lawmakers, hearings and federal decisions will only tell.

I find that funny. What I dont find funny is the fact that this opposition is just that: opposition, and we dont need any of that when it comes to these proposals. Thanks Mben for the post.                                                                  Pam
