I mentioned this to PMM when we were thinking of a location for the contest ... that I couldn't understand what the connection was with my Filipino friend having a huge amount of relatives in Greenland. She has relatives in Canada as well. Canada is close to Greenland so .... ???

I think, although I have no way of corroborating this, especially now that I'm driving, that it has something to do with a treaty about 375 years ago. I mean, I could research it...but so could anyone else. I studied Greenland a lil abt 21 years ago after flying over it, & realizing it was pretty much all ice.
